About the event
Workshop Description: Many writers live and write from places of tension where one thing is ending and another begins. This is the liminal space. These spaces can feel difficult to articulate, especially when writers feel pressure to explain themselves, translate their experiences, or make their work legible or “disgust able” to everyone. This workshop invites writers to do some things different: to write from the in-between rather than around it.
In this 90-minute generative workshop, writers will explore liminality as a creative resource rather than a problem to solve. Through guided prompts, shared discussions, and teaching texts from POC authors, writers will be encouraged to trust what they already know in their bodies and histories, and to let tension (not explanation) drive the work on the page. The focus will be on emergence, permission, and confidence, instead of polish or completion.
