We're looking for Poetry, Prose, & Hybrid Readers
Join Abode Press for our internship reading period this Fall in either poetry, hybrid, or prose. Readers must read 1-2 manuscripts a week and will gain hands-on experience in the indie publishing world.
Interns will also have access to our CLMP internship program to network and learn from other publishing professionals. Internships are volunteer-based roles, but interns will have access to our virtual writing workshops for free.
The Fall Reading Period will take place from August 15th to December 15th. Applicants based in Texas are highly encouraged to apply. Previous reading experience is important but not required.
Applicants must be 18 years of age by July 1st, 2025 and must reside in the U.S. to be considered.

We're looking for an Administrative Assistant!
Join Abode Press as an Administrative Assistant. This position lasts the duration of one year, starting August 1st with the option to renew depending on performance.
The Administrative Assistant will report directly to the Director and is in charge of delivering a monthly report of grant opportunities as well as posting our monthly Substack update. In addition, the Assistant may be asked to manage email communications with staff/external members, update the website with events, manage our Submittable account, and more.
Black and Indigenous people based in the South are highly encouraged to apply. Experience with website management, Submittable, Substack are preferred but not required. A small honorarium of $250 comes with the position.
Applicants must be 21 years of age by July 1st, 2025 and must reside in the U.S. to be considered. In addition, you should want to work with a queer-led press with primarily people of color on the masthead & align with our values and commitments to anti-racism, anti-colonialism, intersectionality, and empathy.
