About the event

Workshop Description:

Adult supremacy is one of the oldest violences we inherit — a quiet architecture that teaches us whose voices matter, whose bodies are believable, whose futures are worth protecting.

This workshop invites writers to name, interrogate, and undo adult supremacy as a cultural logic rooted in colonialism, racial capitalism, and slavery — and to imagine youth liberation as essential to collective freedom.

About the Presenter:

Sirajum Sandhi is a Muslim-abolitionist organizer, liberatory educator, youth advocate, and writer based in Lenapehoking ("NYC"). They founded the Killjoy Institute, an alternative for all those demoralized by the contradictions of the NPIC. Killjoy aims to help the feminist killjoys find one another, engage in critical study, and commit themselves to anti-carceral, anti-racist, anti-pathologized, and decolonial struggles for collective liberation.

Sirajum is a candidate of M.A. in Social Justice at Union Theological Seminary.
