Description: Everything starts small. In fact, imagining any task as a mountain is almost a guarantee we will not accomplish it. Therefore, let’s think of our time together as play, as joy, as pleasure. To quote George Saunders, “Writing has got to be fun. And if it’s not fun, it won’t ever mean anything.” We’ll discuss how this idea of play is important in even our most serious goals. We’ll work with writing exercises as well as non-writing exercises. We’ll do a little scribbling, listen to some crafty advice, and hopefully walk away with a little treasure chest of ideas for our stories, poems, and essays. Closed captions will be provided.
