Description: Do you have an idea for a personal essay, cultural criticism piece, or review that you want to get in Teen Vogue, Hu Post, your local newspaper? Do you want to know where to find opportunities to pitch editors at those publications? Do you even know what a “pitch” is, and want to know what to expect once you get a “yes”? This workshop answers all of those questions. Here, you’ll learn more about the world of magazine publishing and how to best pitch, edit, and publish your ideas. TAKE THIS CLASS IF: You’re interested in pitching essays or other nonfiction work to magazines or online publications; You’re stuck in the submission stage and ready for your “yes”; You are an essayist, prose writer, and/or creative writer and want to learn best practices for pitching your work.
