About the event
Workshop Description: Moderated by Jay Aja, this panel with Aerik Francis, Noel Quiñones, Jessica Nirvana Ram, and Danielle Toosie-Watson focuses on how for many of us, writing is a product of community. We convene to grow both our bonds and our craft. It is in these spaces we encounter other writers with whom we resonate, feeling safe and witnessed. Understandably, we search for the same kind of community when we make the jump into publishing our work. With the shifting number of literary journals, literary agencies, presses and publishing houses opening and shuttering at any given time, it is a daunting task for even more established writers to keep track. And emerging QTBIPOC writers can especially feel at a disadvantage while attempting to locate communal spaces. How then do we find this care as we navigate the publishing industry?
